Hawzah News Agency- the experience of recent centuries has proven to humanity that whenever a European—or, read Western—state enters into war and conflict with another European state, attacks on civilians, the use of atomic bombs or the "mother of all bombs" are deemed inhumane or contrary to the rules of war. Yet when these same hegemonic powers confront non-Western and non-European peoples and states, the story changes, and it appears that human values and the question of human rights are no longer of any importance—rather, as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio recently stated in his well-known speech in Athens, the interests of these countries take precedence over everything else.
The Pharaoh-like Nature of Western Civilization and the 'Mother of All Bombs'
According to Dr. Mohammad Reza Taheri, a university professor and political analyst, the "mother of all bombs" is itself the offspring of the mother of all vices—namely, the Pharaoh-like nature of Western civilization, which today has manifested itself in a particularly clear and blatant manner in the conduct and behavior of White House officials.
He also believes that these tyrannical and bullying behaviors are rooted in the essence of Western civilization and the tyrants of the world. As he correctly notes, the first aerial bombardment in human history, according to Lindqvist, author of "A History of Bombing," took place on the first day of November 1911 during the Italian war against the Ottoman Empire in North Africa.
Taheri stated in this regard: "Aerial bombing emerged at a time when the environment had already been defined by colonial relations. European powers in their colonies encountered peoples whom they portrayed not as equals, but as backward, savage, or incapable of managing their own societies. In this colonial discourse, military violence could be presented not as aggression against an independent society, but as an action to establish order and restrain 'rebellious peoples.'"
A Horrific Tool for Suppressing Muslim Resistance
The university lecturer further noted: "Aerial bombing quickly became a tool for suppressing resistance in the colonies. In 1920, British aircraft were deployed in Somalia against the forces of Sayyid Mohammed Abdullah Hassan, the religious, national, and anti-colonial leader of Somalia. In this model, bombing was not merely a means of destroying a military target; it was a tool for changing the behavior of a nation through fear. The goal was to make people so afraid of the cost of resistance that they would choose surrender before being defeated on the battlefield. This is precisely the point where military technology merges with colonial logic. A power that does not recognize the independence and sovereignty of a nation seeks to force it into submission through threats of destruction."
Referring to the duplicity and contradiction in Western logic and discourse in contemporary world developments, he said: "Colonialism bombs countries and calls it peace. For the hegemonic power, the question is not why a nation resists domination; the question is how to force them into submission. Accordingly, military justifications for undermining enemy morale erase the boundary between military objectives and civilian populations. In some cases, residential neighborhoods are targeted not merely because of their proximity to military installations, but in order to undermine public morale—just as America did in the recent war in the Minab school catastrophe."
A Pretext for the Gradual Expansion of Hegemony
Taheri also added: "It must be noted that the story of advances in fighter jets, bombers, the growth of bombs' explosive capacity, or the increased precision of targeting systems is not merely a technical and military matter. Rather, the story here is the gradual expansion of hegemony, supremacism, and the development of territories in which mass killing has become conceivable, executable, and justifiable."
He recalled: "Military advances also help justify colonial aggression and warmongering from another perspective. Terms such as 'precision strike,' 'smart targeting,' 'limited strike,' and the like create an image suggesting that new technologies have managed to solve the moral problem of bombing; it is enough to select the right target for this military violence to be justifiable."
America's Goals in the Civilizational Battle Against Iranians
The researcher and political analyst, while stating that Americans view the war with Iran as a civilizational battle and have made the necessary plans for it, emphasized: "They know full well that the Iranian people stand against an order that justifies any violence by dehumanizing people, and that they are engaged in a battle with a civilization that, based on supremacism and self-interest, considers any plunder, genocide, aggression, and war justified. Therefore, the bomb is only the final link in this colonial chain."
A Threat That Is a Clear Sign of 'Civilizational Dead End'
Dr. Mousa Najafi, author and researcher of history and professor of political science, also wrote in a note referring to the goals and objectives of the Americans in the civilizational war against Islamic Iran: "Marco Rubio's recent remarks in Athens actually fall within the same historical and cultural Zionist narrative that seeks to instill in the audience that Iran, as a civilizational power, has always been a danger to the West. The implicit message of this narrative is that if the West does not act preemptively, it may once again face a power that threatens its freedom and political order."
He also pointed to an important point in his note: "This is the same scenario whose roots I trace to the intersection of Orientalism, Hollywood narratives, and the political outlook of Zionist currents. In my view, such a narrative is an attempt to construct a civilizational threat and then justify confrontational policies and military actions—for example, the 12-day war, the Ramadan war, and other wars they dream of. The US Secretary of State and the Trump gang are too ignorant to know the Achaemenids, let alone understand these matters—for example, apocalyptic wars."
Reproduction of the Ancient Logic of Pharaoh in the Face of Truth
According to experts and analysts, when a civilization at the height of its claims to rationality and defense of democracy and human rights resorts, in the most naked manner possible, to threats of genocide and the use of apocalyptic tools such as the "mother of all bombs" and other weapons of mass destruction to ensure its own survival, this is more than a sign of strength—it is an undisguised confession of a "civilizational dead end."
Global Awakening and the Decline of American Soft Power
In other words, the rhetoric currently voiced by politicians such as Trump and other leaders of the hegemonic order goes beyond political bluffing; it is a reproduction of the ancient logic of Pharaoh in the face of truth—when argument loses its color and language opens only to threats, intimidation, and destruction.
The reality is that the naked resort to force in recent years in the governance practices of White House officials is rooted in a deep structural crisis—namely, the decline of soft power and the collapse of the narrative of American and Western exceptionalism, and the fact that humanity today, more than ever before, is aware and awakened to the true nature of global developments, particularly the essence of the hegemonic Western order.
